Argyll and Bute MP Brendan O’Hara has this morning (3rd Feb) reiterated his continuing support for MACC’s bid to host the UK Spaceport in Campbeltown.

Commenting on the bid Mr O’Hara said “Space is a big industry in the UK and reaches beyond our vision of astronauts and spaceships. The market for satellites is big business and could be a massive boost to our local economy and presently, satellites built in Scotland have to be transported thousands of miles to be projected into the ether. The bid to host the UK Spaceport at Machrihanish could be a massive boost to the Kintyre peninsula. The consequential benefits of a successful Spaceport in our constituency could be a game changer. As the Parliamentary decision of where to locate the UK’s first spaceport looms imminently, we all individually and collectively need to get behind this bid and show the UK government we’re backing this bid 100%.”
